A Gift of Fire

6.8) The Entertaiment industry has presured the government to get tougher on copyright laws, and have sued without remorse to protect their copyrights. A second step they have take is the implementation releasing products to web-based viewing methods later then their releasing it to other sellers of the product. I fell that they are totally justified in this, as it's their porduct, and they deserve to be reimbursed for creating that product.

6.11) They are fair use, because fair use allows the utilization of smaller passages, as long as you have cited where those passages have come from, for educational and non-profit reasons.

6.13) Fair use guidelines excuse the use of refrencing the articles, but specifically prohibits the copying of a large, let alone the whole article, and in light of this, I do think that newspapers should win the case.

6.14) You could write to the publisher and ask that a set of the texts be donated, or you could buy themm yourself, if you're independently wealthy, or you could ask the publisher for a large discount to make buying the book easier. I would not illegally copy the porduct, becasue there are laws for a reason, and you would be setting a bad exampler. On the other hand, the class might really need those textbooks to fully understand what they're studying.
